Singer-Songwriter, Sarah Capodicasa
has music in her veins. Combine this with her dynamic energy, vocal prowess and versatility, it is no wonder she rapidly earned the reputation as “Melbourne’s Soul Diva”.
Sarah’s musical journey has been filled with a lot of loving support and a great deal of hard work. Her love of music began as far back as she can remember. Sarah’s father, Mario, aka Paul Tuisaint, was a singer who worked seven nights a week and was involved in spectacular show productions on a grand “Hollywood” scale.
He worked along-side such legendary artists like MGM’s Debbie Reynolds and Broadway-great, Robert Goulet. Experiencing these greats live on stage along with their companies’ Sarah was mesmerized by the dancers’ perfect performances, their glittering costumes adorned with feathers and instantly knew that becoming a professional singer and stage performer was the life for her.
While other kids were listening to whomever the latest pop sensation was playing on the radio, Sarah was discovering and listening to Stevie Wonder, George Benson and Al Jarreau.
The first time Sarah sang on stage with her father she was just 15 years old…petrified on the one hand and fearless on the other. Sarah soon began performing on her own joining local bands and playing to mostly empty all-ages rooms and paying her dues.
In the years that have followed Sarah has spent her time mastering her singing and song writing crafts, experimenting with different styles working with different musicians, singers and writing collaborators.
Sarah has worked with some of the biggest names in the business including Kylie Minogue, Jessica Mauboy, Daryl Braithwaite, Anthony Callea, Tim Campbell, Jason Singh (Taxiride) and James Reyne.
Sarah has also performed for dignitaries and celebrities, including being hand-picked to sing exclusively for Oscar winners and Hollywood royalty Goldie Hawn and Susan Sarandon on their most recent visits to Australia.
Sarah’s versatility further extends to the musical stage and small screen with her credits including backing vocalist on X-Factor Australia, guest judge on Channel 7’s All Together Now and her recent stage performance in Jason Coleman’s musical spectacular All Aboard. Sarah is also a featured vocalist for Coles supermarket campaigns.
From fronting a full band to performing a laid back acoustic duo show, Sarah comfort zone transcends the formats. Her adaptability sees her transition with ease from centre stage delivering featured vocal performances for corporate awards nights, to BVs on TV with Kylie Minogue, to DJ + vocal duos, as Friday in Bjorn Again or taking centre stage headlining her own shows.
Sarah dedication to writing and recording original music has seen her release a string of singles, and in 2016, release her debut EP, “Fearless” reaching #3 on the iTunes R&B/Soul Charts. “Fearless” was Co- produced by Australia's own Paul Cecchinelli and infused with the A&R guidance of American import, Mark Mazzetti. “Fearless” showcases Sarah's voice that is both sultry and powerful and stands as the central “instrument” and the most stirring element of this collection of pop-jazz all-original tunes.
With a fearless attitude and unparalleled work ethic Sarah’s captivating style and grace see her follow her dream day after day and share with all who love her the gift she shares every time she takes to the stage.
“My hope for others is the same for me. To inspire and live your truth.
To look honestly at the world and ourselves and have the courage to make the world a better place; and
always follow our dreams,” Sarah C
